November 9, 2022 by EssaySnark Leave a Comment

No no no no no hear us out.

Every component of your application communicates something discretely — and the sum total of all elements of your application tells a story.

What story is it telling, and how will your target school interpret the elements being presented together, based on how your high GMAT score factors in?

And before we jump into the full discussion, and so that we cannot be accused of total click-bait on the title, ngl, a high GMAT is very, very rarely a liability… but there are always edge cases!!!!

So let’s talk about when is a high GMAT score potentially not as positive as it would naturally seem!

The schools make decisions on all sorts of criteria, on all sorts of reasons, to maximize their own objectives and move their institution towards their goals. Sometimes a GMAT score is the reason someone gets in, and sometimes they’re admitted in spite of the score. Sometimes it’s one small factor in why they’re denied a spot, and believe it or not, sometimes a higher score might contribute to a rejection when it’s part of a package that does not match up to the criteria that the admissions team is optimizing for in their class.

Want to know how the pieces might add up for you? The best way for us to give you actionable feedback and direct insights into the impressions you’re making with your writing is through the Essay Decimator Essay Review. We offer in-depth critiques on individual sentences and the essay construction as a whole, and how your messaging is coming together to help your intended audience – the admissions director at that specific school – to become influenced into wanting you as part of their next incoming class. Going through the Essay Decimator on your first set of essays can be a tremendous investment that changes the whole trajectory of your application process, and can substantially affect your chances of success in the end. We’re still taking on new clients for Round 1 and you have the advantage of working together before the stress of deadlines starts to clamp down! Information is power in this process, and the most powerful of all is information about you and how you’re developing the necessary essay-writing skills you need to make the best impression possible.
