We caution against overreliance on rankings all the time — we especially warn BSers about getting so fixated on going to “the best” school that they lose sight of all reason. No one school is “the best” for everyone, and ANY good school is going to be a great experience, depending on how you go into it. Bschool is what you make of it, after all. When schools are either passively or maliciously manipulating the data being reported and no one is paying attention — and wealthy families are finding back-door loopholes to get their kids admitted — then you have to wonder if the system is rigged, or at least totally useless in providing information that you can rely on to make your decisions about your application strategies in order to get admitted.
