Some schools have apps that keep on giving.
You get all those opportunities to present yourself through the essays — opportunities you struggled and sweated through, and decided in the end that you’re not so fond of “opportunities” like that at all!
You pressed that final “submit” button on your last app for Round 2 a few weeks ago, sighing a sweet sigh of relief that the essay part was over.
But what’s this?!??? You get the interview invitation and the school says they want you to also submit ANOTHER ESSAY?!!!!
Wha’?????
It can be an almost surreal experience to go back and re-read the essays you wrote for your Round 2 applications today. It’s barely a month since you submitted many of them, but it might feel almost like a disembodied moment when you see them again. You read through, and they sound vaguely familiar…. But depending what type of caffeine or Red Bull induced fugue state you ended up in at the 11th hour of writing them the night before deadline, you may or may not recognize much at all in the words that you are faced with today!
And if you’ve been in the saddle since Round 1: It also may seem like multiple years have passed by since you were in your first frenzy of submit-mode. Days take forever during coronavirus while months last a lifetime.
So now you’re back in essay-mode again, though at this stage it may feel quite different. Having to write an essay because you got invited to do so by the adcom, because they’ve included you in the group of next-stage applicants… well, that’s not quite so bad! It may even feel somewhat invigorating to some of you. Clearly you did *something* right with the first batch, to make it to this stage!
That means that we know you can do this one too!
