($) Taking a non-traditional approach to Stanford Essay B “Why Stanford?”

Those Stanford essays are HARD!

Here’s some comments* that we offered to a BSer working through content strategies on Stanford Essay B, after they had tried a novel approach in their first draft (that really didn’t work, but was unique!), and then tried a more standard approach in their second draft (which also didn’t work, but for totally different reasons).

And of course, for anyone thinking about Stanford… This BSer had been studying this particular essay guide in earnestness; we could see the effort they’d been putting in based on the quality of their drafts, and also the thoughtfulness of the questions they asked during the process of getting the essays decimated.
