Those of you actively and consistently volunteering pre-pandemic probably aren’t doing so now. Or maybe you are, but the nature of the volunteer work is different.
The most common type of volunteering we see among MBA applicants is mentoring, and most types of mentoring, that can be conducted via Zoom.
If your mentoring was of young people, from elementary to high school especially, then hopefully you have been able to continue that. Kids need support right now, and parents too, so any effort you may have been putting in to help a kid is good work indeed.
What if your volunteer opportunity dried up when the pandemic hit?
Or what if you hadn’t been doing any volunteering at all?
How will that impact your chances with your MBA applications this season?
