Last week we posted on the perennial question, “What are my chances?”
In that post we promised to talk more about predicting someone’s possible admission to other (non-HBS) schools, so let’s dive into that now!

What we want to convey in these posts is that there are many consultants out there who are eager to sign up a new client — and the dynamics are very different when talking to a prospective customer before any money has changed hands. That’s why we have our profile review as a paid service and we don’t do those freebie calls to get you to go with us. There’s automatically going to be pressure for the consultant to want to say the right thing to the prospect and convince them that engaging with that consultant is their ticket to success. It taints the whole process of giving advice, because the consultant has a built-in agenda. Most consultants do it that way, and we encourage you to talk to as many consultants as you want — but just intake their words carefully, and use a critical ear to question the info they share.
