Ahhh. The unhelpful answer of “It depends!”
It depends on:
- Which school
- Which essay or in-app question
- What your goals are
For example, if you are saying you want to start a company in the long term, then that’s going to require a different level of presentation than someone who is planning on moving up through the ranks of a consulting firm to hopefully become Partner one day.
Shameless plug: If any aspect to your career goals, whether short-term or long-term, involves something entrepreneurial or touches on the idea of you building something or starting something or joining a family business something or being otherwise venturesome, may we suggest picking up the Career Goals Starting Point on Entrepreneurship? It’s a purpose-built guide to help you understand the complexities of crafting a rock-solid set of goals that includes entrepreneurship.
Since everyone and her sister is dreaming of entrepreneurship at some point in their lives, then it’s easy to fall into the very basic traps of just saying “ENTREPRENEURSHIP!!!!” and not actually pitching it as a realistic and achievable goal.
