One of the most helpful things you can do as you’re procrastinating on actually getting started on writing your MBA essays is to spend some time with at least one school’s actual application.
Last season in the lead-up to Round 2 we got this question from a military BSer about the Wharton application fields:
(If you have access privileges on your account to view our Military MBA content then you’ll see this material.)
And here’s what else we said, which should be useful for literally anyone trying for any of these schools:
On the app dataset (for any school): Less is often more! It’s always nice to have at least SOMETHING on each screen, but don’t sweat it if you don’t have major numbers of high-impact items across the board with every category. It is painfully obvious when an applicant is milking a bunch of low-relevance (or very dated) experiences to try and fill out the screen — though that’s human nature, too, so it’s fine if you’re feeling tempted to do at least some of that!
Got a question about the app dataset for a specific school? Lay it on us! You can leave your question in the comments to this post and we’ll be happy to answer. Don’t be shy: We allow anonymous commenting here!
