We’ve waited a full year to post this in order to not “out” the BSer who lucked out with these admits. We don’t like naming schools that someone get accepted to when they’re going through the deliberation process because even though the schools don’t really care, it still feels like it would be too easy to identify the individual Brave Supplicant through such data. But now this BSer is happily ensconced in their studies (or rather, dreading the return to those studies as the holiday break winds down) at the school they chose, with the decision far, far behind them, so it’s more appropriate to be sharing some of the thoughts that we offered to them at the time of the very difficult decision they faced.
We began with some rough-hewn thoughts yesterday and today is going much more specific, with this pairing of points about Ross versus Stern, and specifically from an international student.
Here’s an exchange that we had including the insights that this BSer offered up — specific to their situation obviously but helpful so you can see the thinking that went into it for them before even coming to us with the question:
Between Ross and Stern, I can’t decide which is better for an international student. If I go to Stern, I might get to form better connections in the media for the long term (the likes of Disney don’t recruit internationals from MBA schools) but in way of a post MBA job, it’s either Consulting or Amazon. If I go to Ross, it’s Consulting or Amazon as well, but Amazon recruits a lot from Ross (though I’ve heard that everyone at Ross wants to go to Amazon, so the competition is super intense). It’s hard to decide. Please let me know what you think.
We responded by asking this BSer what their reasons are.
You’ll have to come back tomorrow to see what they said. 🙂
OH LOOK! TOMORROW IS HERE!
Tell us what you think.
