…there is literally nothing stopping you.
You do not need an MBA.
You do not need a lot of money.
You do not need anything except the willingness to get started and actually go do it.

We're the snarky experts in MBA admissions!
Sometimes amused and often appalled by what candidates write in their MBA applications to top bschools, EssaySnark created this little blahg to share common mistakes. Learn from them and avoid making admissions directors laugh (or want to hurl) when they read your essays. If you are hoping to have your essay reviewed anonymously on the blahg for free, submit it for consideration.

Useful advice.
My day job will be changing this year, thanks to my EMBA, but I could have launched the side business I’m working on without it.

Wow – exciting stuff and lots of changes! It sounds like the EMBA has been valuable in more ways than one!
Any advice you can offer to those interested in starting a side business as you have, either pre-MBA or not?
levieillard says
The EMBA was a game-changer. However, it took six months to recover from the intensity of working and going to school at the same time.
For side gigs:
1) Go for it, but keep your day job. Make sure you are not ruined if you fail. If you survive your failures, you can learn from them. This will give a competitive advantage that people who “go all in” or “burn the boats” will not understand. Their loss, your gain.
2) Get into the market. The sooner you connect with potential customers, the sooner you will understand what they want, the sooner you will be able to create products and services they will buy. (Information products, consulting, and coaching businesses can be launched with a single web-page, email list, and low-budget promotional campaign.)
Thanks to the internet, we are living in perhaps the best time in history for entrepreneurs.
