So who the heck is EssaySnark, anyway?!

We're the snarky experts in MBA admissions!

Sometimes amused and often appalled by what candidates write in their MBA applications to top bschools, EssaySnark created this little blahg to share common mistakes. Learn from them and avoid making admissions directors laugh (or want to hurl) when they read your essays. If you are hoping to have your essay reviewed anonymously on the blahg for free, submit it for consideration.

You are my friend even if we are not buddies on FB or LinkedIn or “whatever”. The first thing I do in the morning is check out the latest thoughts of my good ol’ pal EssaySnark!

LOL just wait till we review your essays! We lose “friends” very quickly at that stage. 😀

Wait, have you not started yet? It might be really awesome if you have not because I have now been thinking that I went the wrong direction with Harvard. My success showed innovation and analytical skills, but lets face it, innovation is not one of their decision criteria, and the GMAT and GPAs are enough to show analytical skills (I imagine). I have community involvement out the wa-zoo, but what they don’t see directly is leadership.

I wrote a very rough draft of a leadership essay for Kellogg when I realized that it would make a better success story for Harvard than what I had had before. Do you want me to send it to you? (VERY ROUGH DRAFT! I just wrote the story down without much thought of it being an application.)

@TY, can’t say we ever “want” any essays sent!!! 🙂 (Essays = work for us ya know)

It’s up to you if you want to submit something!

Oh wait – TY we don’t know if we’ve started reviewing your essays or not – we have no idea who you are! Misunderstood your comment originally. It sounds like you’d submitted something for a free review on the blahg? Confused what you’re asking about. We don’t track those things very well, it’s rather random. We do not typically do more than one essay review (or profile review, or answers to questions) for free. It sounds like you could benefit from a more structured approach to your process? Or at least help at the figure-out-what-to-say stage.

I am the Peace Corps volunteer in Africa who sent you HBS stuff. I have no idea what you are going to do with me, but anything will help! 😀

(Topics were a failed negotiation and creating a motivation tool.)
