We’re in the Decision Zone!!

December 14, 2011 by EssaySnark - Discusses Darden, Kellogg, Dartmouth Tuck 10 Comments

Duke and UNC both announced their Early Action decisions already, and Columbia has been announcing decisions all along, and Kellogg began putting the calls out a few days ago… but starting today, we’re officially in the Round 1 Decision Zone! And based on the results of our informal blahg poll about who’s been interviewed, there are LOTS of you anxiously awaiting the results!

Round 1 2011 MBA Interview Report
Round 1 2011 MBA Interview Report

So here’s the schedule – not that you haven’t had this memorized for months already!!

  • Wed., Dec. 14 – Stanford, Booth
  • Thurs., Dec. 15 – Yale, Georgetown
  • Fri., Dec. 16 – Tuck Early Action, INSEAD
  • Mon., Dec. 19 – HBS, Kellogg, Tepper
  • Tues., Dec. 20 – Wharton, Cornell
  • Wed., Dec. 21 – Darden

McCombs is “the week of” Dec. 19th” so look for their decisions coming soon too.

We’ve started a new poll to capture results on the right.

Good luck to all the stressed-out Round 1 candidates!! Can’t wait to hear the good news!! Besides logging your (fingers crossed!) acceptances, you can also post here, or email us, or tweet, or SOMETHING to let us know how it’s worked out! We want to know about happiness and not-yet-happiness outcomes, so please communicate!!!

So who the heck is EssaySnark, anyway?!

We're the snarky experts in MBA admissions!

Sometimes amused and often appalled by what candidates write in their MBA applications to top bschools, EssaySnark created this little blahg to share common mistakes. Learn from them and avoid making admissions directors laugh (or want to hurl) when they read your essays. If you are hoping to have your essay reviewed anonymously on the blahg for free, submit it for consideration.

Oh nevermind I guess this poll was just for schools with interviews by invite only, but I'm sure people admitted to Kellogg/Duke/Tuck/etc. would love to share the news!

@Erin – no, you're right – this new poll is meant to capture admits but we had re-used the earlier interview poll, which we had intentionally omitted Tuck/Duke/Kellogg from since they'll interview anyone… and forgot to update it. Fixed now!! And moved to the right bar so that it's more permanently displayed. 🙂

I already told you yesterday, but I figured I'd share it on the blahg for everyone. I got the Kellogg admit call yesterday and I'm beyond stoked. I owe Essay Snark a huge thank you for all of the feedback and snarkiness he gave me for my essays. I honestly think that a huge reason why I have good news to report is because of the Snark Attack my career goals essay received. When I got the admit call the adcom even told me that I wrote a very compelling application. So if there was ever a doubt about whether Essay Snark's advice pays off, I can unequivocally say that, "yes it does!"

@Cheetarah1980 – CONGRATS!! You had all the right pieces, they just weren't quite arranged the right way originally… but you made it all come together in the end! So cool to hear what the adcom said about your app – and yes, we agree! Your story is solid, and you're definitely Kellogg material. So exciting!

@Cassiopeia – fingers still crossed for you!! You've certainly been working at this long enough!!

And @everyoneelse… hoping to hear more great news from you soon!

Can I share my good news via the poll even though you haven't helped me with any essays (yet?)? Or is it only for people you've actually worked with?

@Christine, if EssaySnark was along for the ride during your app process (i.e., if you're a Brave Supplicant who's been frequenting the blahg) then YES please tell us how it turned out for you!

If I haven't heard from Yale by Dec. 15, does it mean I didn't get in early decision?

@Anonymous, not sure but we think that most admitted candidates got phone calls today. It's not over until it's over, so if you haven't gotten official word, there's still a chance! Sometimes people are waitlisted too… don't give up quite yet!
