We were reminded by a Brave Supplicant’s recent inquiry about the MIT Sloan “cover letter” (asked in the comments on this post) that this whole “leadership” concept can be a slippery one for ya’ all. We're the snarky experts in MBA admissions!
Sometimes amused and often appalled by what candidates write in their MBA applications to top bschools, EssaySnark created this little blahg to share common mistakes. Learn from them and avoid making admissions directors laugh (or want to hurl) when they read your essays. If you are hoping to have your essay reviewed anonymously on the blahg for free, submit it for consideration.

What do you recommend for the extracurricular activities at work? Say an initiative etc.
Does it make more sense to include them in the Experience column or in the Interests column?

Yo Sirius Black! (HP references are always a way to brighten EssaySnark's day)
The answer is, it depends. Company-sponsored volunteering, or something like a food drive that you organize at the office, or through some officially company-sanctioned charitable effort, often fit well at the bottom of the list of achievements within the main Experience (Employment) section; in other words, put them as the last bullet of your existing job. However, if you don't have much volunteering to speak of, you may want to list these items separately at the very bottom, in the Personal or Additional Info section or whatever you're calling it. Just be sure to note that it's done through the workplace (e.g., "Led the Deloitte 2010 Toys for Tots drive for the Dallas office, which generated more donations than any other Deloitte office in the region")
If it's a non-professional and non-volunteer EC activity (company basketball league, representing the company at an industry association, etc.) then it can still go in either section though if it's more of a social thing, our vote is to put it at the bottom.
