IMPORTANT UPDATE 5/13/11: THIS POST IS DISCUSSING *OLD* ESSAY QUESTIONS! Some of the info here may very well apply to future years, but this post is OLD!!!
OK. So you’re tacklling this essay question as part of your Wharton strategy because everyone seems to think it’s so, well, strategic. (Yes, we think so, too, as long as you have a good idea to present!!)
After reading through a bunch of first drafts for this essay from a bunch of different clients over the past several months, and in each and every case, going, “Huh??” afterwards, we have to throw this out there:
Did you even bother to look at the Wharton course catalog when you started thinking about your answer to this question?
Because if there’s already a course like this, then maybe it’s not worth proposing a new one.
And if there isn’t any course even remotely like this (or like the two examples they provide in the prompt), then either you’re absolutely effing brilliant… or maybe the course you’re proposing just doesn’t make any sense!!!
Tell us what you think.
