EssaySnark understands how tiring it is to write all those essays. (Believe us, we understand — we have to read them!) However before you’re tempted to cut some corners and maybe pad out the edges of your threadbare and forelorn essay… Before you even consider the possibility of employing the tried-and-true copy and paste Meaning…
So who the heck is EssaySnark, anyway?!
We're the snarky experts in MBA admissions!
Sometimes amused and often appalled by what candidates write in their MBA applications to top bschools, EssaySnark created this little blahg to share common mistakes. Learn from them and avoid making admissions directors laugh (or want to hurl) when they read your essays. If you are hoping to have your essay reviewed anonymously on the blahg for free, submit it for consideration.

>Hi EssaySnark,
I assure you: a stalker I am not,
But, my mind is in a huge knot.
I love your snarkiness so..
But, why wont you assess my profile though?
Is it not worth your usual snarky self?
Or is it that you dont have free time on your shelf?
You may find my profile drivel,
But while making all that happen, I have almost been reduced to gravel!
So, as a brave supplicant, this is my plea..
Its going to be a week, please dont dismiss me.
On my profile, let your snarkiness flow,
the wait has now become a reason for woe!

>A thought just occurred to me. Has anyone tried writing an entire essay in a poem? Has anyone had the guts?
Actually, writing it in poem form might save on a lot of words too.

Yup, I know someone who got into Haas based on (he believes) an entire essay written in rhyme.

Sometimes people are admitted DESPITE the essays. We know of many more instances of BSers getting rejected with such strategies.

Understandably, the author is headed to Penn State.

Ouch. Anonymous, be nice. We can be snarky but not cruel. EssaySnark is tempted to delete that comment… it's so easy to be a jerk when you're an anonymous internet pos(t)er. And, you likely did not read our earlier assessment of this person's profile. Given the proper help with essays, smriti could've easily made it into a top-ranked school.
We're gonna sit on this through the weekend. Not a fan of censorship but also not a fan of this tone. We haven't been encouraging you Brave Supplicant readers to interact on this here blahg to get comments like this one.

>@samudra, in online chat for NYU Stern just now, they said that for their essay 3, a poem might work great! They said to "choose a format that allows you to best express who you are and what you want to share with the Admissions Committee" and "proof it carefully and use good judgment" (among other things). Other than this type of very unusual essay question, we would not recommend use of a poem as an essay. This is partly what was not working in another Brave Supplicant's Darden essay last year, reviewed here http://bit.ly/loLxY3
