As of 4/11/13, we’re pleased to report that 93% of the several dozen people who took advantage of the Complete Essay Package last season have made it into a top bschool of their choice! And BSers who used EssaySnark consulting for some part of their process have racked up over 75 acceptances so far in the 2012 admissions season! (This doesn’t even count everyone who leveraged the resources of the blahg without going through any of our consulting services!) Congrats to all you Soon-To-Be-Bschool-Students!!!!!
We celebrate everyone’s acceptances!
EssaySnark has been helping MBA applicants for many many years now and we’ve seen huge numbers of people be successful. We’ve come up with the very imprecise current total of 1,108 acceptances through 2012.
OK, we admit it: We just made that number up. We have no way of knowing exactly how many it’s been, but we do know that it’s a lot. And we have a bit of hard data to offer about outcomes for all those tired and weary souls using the ‘Snark’s advice to make their way through the admissions obstacle course.
The EssaySnark blahg has been live for four admissions seasons now.
With the summer of 2013 we’ll be moving into our fifth cycle of doing this stuff publicly. (Remember, EssaySnark began in the admissions consulting biz many years before the blahg opened up).
In 2011, we started polling all the Brave Supplicants out there to collect data on your outcomes.
In the first year of polling, we got reports of a very impressive 248 admits!
These are the numbers that you yourselves have reported back to the blahg (yes it’s self-reported):
Self-Reported Acceptances from Brave Supplicants hanging out on the EssaySnark blahg
2011 Round 1
Survey live from 12/8/11 to 3/1/12

2011 Round 2
Survey live from 3/1/12 to 5/24/12

2012 Round 1
Survey live from 10/30/12 to 2/3/13

Now, you astute observers will notice that the numbers between 2011 and 2012 are quite different. Good catch! This is not because fewer Brave Supplicants in Snarkville saw success this past year. No, no, ma cherie. Instead, this is because we got clobbered with a poll troll who got his willies off on jacking up the data. We had to re-set the poll a number of times, which meant we lost everyone’s admits. Eventually, we had to implement a vote-only-once limit on the poll widget. So in 2012, BSers were only able to report their first bschool acceptance. A huge number of happy BSers make it into multiple schools, so we’re not capturing the full set of outcomes.
We know that we touched more people in 2012 simply due to the increase in website traffic, and the increased success rate of our paying clients also speaks to that (nearly double the numbers of prior-year!!). But we’re big on publishing the numbers as we get them, and we thought a brief explanation of that was in order.
Round 2 2012 numbers will be posted in the next few weeks.
Of course, every year we’ve also seen increasing successes with our private consulting clients – literally hundreds of people have gotten into bschool with the help of EssaySnark along the way. It all adds up to many inspiring Success Stories – that’s the whole reason we do this. (You don’t think we like reading essays, do you?!?)
If you’ve not made it in yet, we’ve got plenty of resources available to help you change that!
